I’ve chuckled, chortled and guffawed my way through many of his books. If you’re not familiar with him, you should be. Here are three of my favorite of his Deep Thoughts, all from the same book, Deepest Thoughts. The last thing I want to do is infringe on any copyright thingies ….I don’t want to steal his work, I just want to use them as examples of why you should go out and buy his books (and we now have a little thing over on the right side of the page where you can do just that). These first two are ones that anybody with any sense should treasure.
Let’s be honest: isn’t a lot of what we call tap-dancing really just nerves?
The other day I got out my can opener and was opening a can of worms when I thought, “What am I doing?”
Priceless! But I think the one below is my favorite … probably because my guess is most people wouldn’t find it particularly funny at all – but I think it’s hilarious.
If you see an animal and you can’t tell if it’s a skunk or a cat, here’s a good saying to help: “Black and white, stinks all right. Tabby-colored, likes a fella.
I don’t know about you, but I have a trained eye and the thing that I noticed right off the bat is that all three of these are incredibly foamy, but none of them are too foamy. It’s a fine line, and he rarely crosses it. That’s a sign of a Great American Humorist. So go out now and buy his books.
