The theme of the festival is family fun, and its slogan is Come on down for some good ole’-fashioned hoop-dee-doo. (I invariably ask Vulva for some of that at some point over the weekend.) There’s a lot of activities for kids, like pumpkin carving and pony rides (and I usually make a crack about that too). And of course there’s a small carnival and food vendors, and the Vulva Meadows High School Marching Band always puts on a concert in the park. (Go Majoras!) Some of the local neighborhood associations also put on special events. This year, for example, R.R. Arbuckle, President of the Vulva Meadows Neighborhood Watch Program, is hosting an event he’s calling “A Salute to Curly Peters” – an evening honoring our town’s Police Chief.
Although she acts like she’s having to grin and bear it, Vulva really does like the festive atmosphere, so we’ll be down there this weekend. If you’re in the area, stop on by.

If you do come on down, there might be an opportunity for a Moondance if the weather cooperates. And so that’s Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day. Click on the title to see this live performance.
