Say What, Bob?

I was driving around in my car yesterday, listening to my iPod, and this song came on. I’ve always thought it was a pretty decent song, but there’s one line, no matter how many times I’ve heard it, that always brings a smile to my face. And when I hear it I always say to myself, facetiously, something along the lines of “yeah, what red-blooded heterosexual American male hasn’t had that same exact thought before?” This is the line:

I feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet,
Putting her in a wheelbarrow, and wheeling her down the street.

Say what?

A wheelbarrow?

Well okay … I guess. Hopefully it’d be like a Binford 5000 type of wheelbarrow … you know, top-of-the line with a heavy-duty suspension and big pneumatic tire, rather than just a little garden variety type of wheelbarrow. Cause that’s what I got, and I tried it with Vulva after hearing the song the first time, and we didn’t get very far at all.)

Dylan’s pretty much thought of as being the voice of a generation, but I can’t help but think he didn’t quite nail this one.
