135 Years of Shucking Stops – Jiving Continues

Of course there’s nothing funny about the current oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. But I saw this headline on CNN online – 135 Years of Shucking stops – and my little addition seemed like such a natural. The story, of course, is about an oyster company having to close because of oil pollution. I’m sure jiving is still going on in New Orleans, even though it might be a bit more subdued than normal. Here’s hoping they’ll be able to get back to shucking soon.

This is a really old song that I’ve always liked. I’ve always thought of it as having a New Orleans style jazz sound to it, but whether it does or not, it’s a real toe-tapper. And it’s Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day. Doo-dah.
