Talking Rabbits

I was out buying a birthday card for someone (Happy 25th, Viper!), and I found one I liked pretty well. But there was another one that I also really liked because it gave me a laugh, and so I thought I might as well go ahead and use it for today’s post ‘cause frankly I don’t have anything better at the moment.

Anyway, the card said it was a reprint of a cartoon that originally appeared in the New Yorker magazine. There are these two “humanized” rabbits, and you can tell that they’re father and son. And they’re sitting at a small town train station and it looks like the son is heading off somewhere, probably to college. And his father is handing him a small package, and he says: your mother wanted you to have this for luck – it’s her foot.

Good one, New Yorker!

To keep with this general theme we’re taking a pyschedelic journey back forty-three years to the old Smothers Brothers show for Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day.
