Duncan, Why Don’t You Take a Load Off and Just Re-Run One of Your Really Good Past Posts?

Okay. I hadn’t really thought of that, but it’s not a bad idea. I have been working a little too hard lately. Here’s one of my favorites from May of 2009.

I Am Like the Lake

I have the good fortune to live on a small lake. I so enjoy the quiet beauty it affords, just watching and looking. The sunrises, the moonlight reflecting off the water, the fog – sometimes so dense you can only make out a solitary boat, other times just slight wisps rising from the surface. My favorite time is when the water is perfectly still, like a mirror, reflecting the clouds and the trees on the far shoreline. It was like that this morning; beautiful, and totally placid. And it occurred to me that at least for this one magical morning, I was like the lake: beautiful and totally flaccid.

I think it would just be a little too-too if I were to just feature the same song for Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day that I used the first time I ran this post. How lazy do you think I am? So here’s a different song, one I just find quite fascinating. Leonard Cohen. Go figure.

Title: Dance Me To The End of Love
Artist: Leonard Cohen
