I heard from my sister, Punkin’, about my post yesterday. She said that all those times growing up, when we were sitting around the dinner table and Mom would talk about taking a man at his word when he talked about his Flying Wallendas, that she was just being facetious. Punkin’ said she thought I knew that. In fact, she said it taught her an important lesson so that she’s absolutely never taken a man seriously when he starts going on about his Flying Wallendas.
Well WTF! What else was Mom being facetious about? What other bedrock principles that I’ve built my life around are going to start to crumble?
