Okay, Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day is one you’ve
undoubtedly never heard of, but one I’ve always really liked (and it’s my blog
so I’ll feature it if I damn well please).
It’s written from the perspective of a guy who’s been hired to play
background piano at a high-society party, and throughout the song he comments
on the various guests he observes. It
contains one of my favorite lines of all time; in commenting on “the
wallflower,” he writes: “she marvels at the confidence of those who hide their
fears.” Party on.
Title: The Party
