The President Fell Behind the Dresser This Morning, And I’m Afraid He May Have to Stay There For a Very Long Time

On the first Christmas after Barack Obama was elected President, a very thoughtful, special person gave Vulva and I a four-inch tall plastic figurine of Mr. Obama, all the more special because it had moveable arms (just like the real deal!).  Ever since, he’s been standing on the dresser in our bedroom, keeping a watchful eye on the comings and goings there.  This morning, while dusting, I accidentally knocked the President over the back of the dresser.  It’s a very heavy dresser, very heavy, and there’s only about an inch-and-a-half gap between it and the wall.  I’m afraid the President may be there awhile.  There’s no telling how this might affect the ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations.  Courage.

At times like this, it’s not unusual to turn to religion.  In that spirit, Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day features David Bryne and St. Vincent.
