I Think It’d Be Embarrassing To Be Driving Around With a Bunch Of Church Ladies and See a Road Sign That Said “Semen Drop Ahead”

What’d be the appropriate protocol here?  Would you pretend you didn’t see it, or would you go ahead and stop, or, God forbid, would you ask them what their pleasure is?  Or would you just laughingly say “too late.”

I saw where Noel Harrison died a couple of days ago.  “Who’s he?” you ask.  He used to be a name, a long time ago.  I didn’t know until I read it in the paper, but he was the son of legendary actor Rex Harrison (of My Fair Lady fame).  He also was a singer who had a couple of moderate hits, but he’s probably best known for the song Windmills of Your Mind, which actually won the Oscar for best song in 1969 for the movie The Thomas Crown Affair.  I always thought that was a really nifty song. (I love the lyric “Was the sound of distant drumming just the fingers of your hand?)  So that’s Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day.  Oh but what a treat we have!  The first video linked to below is of him singing (well, lip-synching it appears) the original.  The second one is of him singing it live two years ago, 42 years after the first one.  To me it’s fascinating to see what effect 42 years has on someone’s appearance, but more fascinating to me is how distinctively good and “youthful” his voice still sounded.  R.I.P. Mr. Harrison.

Title:  Windmills of Your Mind [Original Version] – [42 Years Later]
