Words of Wisdom From Elwood P. Dowd

Just a quickie here on this Sunday morning, a quote from one of my favorite movies, Harvey. (And just for the record, I'm not sure it's an exact quote - and I'm not going to take the time to look it up - but it's a pretty darn close paraphrase, okay?) In describing his philosophy of life, the lead character Elwood P. Dowd says:

You know years ago, my mother used to say to me, Elwood she'd say, in this life - she always used to call me Elwood - Elwood, in this life you have to be either oh so smart, or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.
