Boyhood Memories

When I woke up this morning it was beautiful, but there was a definite nip in the air – a clear reminder that fall wasn’t too far around the corner. And it took me back to when I was a boy, staying at the cabin. It could get pretty cold at night, and that cabin didn’t have much insulation so we’d really have to pile on the blankets. But Grandma always got up before everyone else the next morning and started the sexpot going. So by the time we got up and went down to the kitchen it was nice and warm and cozy. We’d all sit around the sexpot, sometimes sipping hot chocolate, and it was such a loving, warm, family-friendly way to start the day. I love those old memories.

I wonder whatever happened to that old sexpot?

Speaking of old memories, this isn’t one of them … but it could be. I think this song is ancient, like from well back in the last millennium, even though I only heard it for the first time about a year ago. But it’s a fine song and it’s Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day.
