May I Suggest a Kinder, Gentler Swear Word?

Here it is: shipifuh – pronounced either ship-uh-fuh if you’re saying it quickly, or shi-puh-fuh if you want to draw it out for effect. It combines three of the ole’ standards – the “S word,” the “P word” and the “F word” – into one handy, all-encompassing swear word. But it does so in a far less course and vulgar way. Heck, it almost sounds friendly! And personally, I think our world is far too course and vulgar as it is, so any little thing we can do to lessen that, well that’s just swell.

So try the word out … take it for a spin … and if you like it, use it all you want. And if it turns out you like it, here’s another one you might enjoy: fugnay. You might be thinking to yourself, “well Duncan, would I ever have an opportunity to use that word?” To which I’d reply, “fugnay!”

It’s time for Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day, and for the third time we have Blue October. Even though it’s the third time, I don’t think it indicates that I’m developing a man crush.
