My Middle Name

I’m a little surprised at the number of people who have inquired as to what my middle name is. That number, to be exact, is zero. No one has inquired. That seems gay to me. I’m going to assume it’s just because you’re bashful, and tell you anyway, because I think you really should know. And frankly, I’m quite fond of my middle name.

So, my middle name is …are you ready? … my middle name is Duncan. Yes, my parents liked the name so well – understandably so – that they named me that twice. And like so many things, I like that, I like it a lot. Most of the time I’m simply Duncan Funk, which seems quite enough. On occasion though, when a situation calls for some emphasis, I’m Duncan Duncan Funk. And on those occasions when I’m feeling particularly spritely, I’m Duncan D. Funk. Oh yeah. Now, aren’t you glad you know?

Time for Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day. This is a really great song, so great in fact that it was one of the first ones we featured way back almost nine months ago. That version, which was by Rufus Wainwright is probably my favorite, but this one is a close second. The song’s originally by Leonard Cohen.

Title: Hallelujah
Artist: Jeff Buckley
