Craptown ladies sing this song, doo dah, doo dah
Craptown ladies all night long, oh the doo dah day.
(You know, I’ve been hearing Mr. Jeepers sing this song for years now – I don’t know if he realizes it’s just his own variation of “Camptown Ladies.”) Mr. Jeepers says it will be a heartwarming, coming-of-age tale about a young woman who, through hard-work, talent and plenty of pluck, makes the Revue’ into a wildly successful Americana-type institution, and more importantly, a force for good in the world. He seems pretty excited about it, but I got to be honest, I’m not so sure. He was also pretty excited about a similar project several years ago, A Musical Salute to Tom Brokaw, but that one never quite made it to Broadway (though it did receive some stellar reviews in local community theatre).
And … it’s not like Mr. Jeepers doesn’t have at least a little track-record. Remember his song Getting Sexed-Up for the Holidays that I told you about in our September 2, 2009 post? Even though that song never made in big in the US, it got a lot of airplay in other places. I often heard it in the elevator when I was in Cabo last December. Put it this way, he’s made enough off the royalties that he’s been able to devote his full attention to this new project of his.
So maybe The Craptown Ladies Revue’ will be a success as well. I hope for his sake it is. Doo dah!
