Gar’s Really Taking a Shine to His “New” Name

Remember a couple of weeks ago I told you about how my friend Gar’s grandfather had passed away, and as a way of helping keep his memory alive Gar decided he was going to start using his full name, because he was named after his grandfather and that’s what his grandfather did. So my friend Gar Arbuckle is now Gar R. Arbuckle, and that’s how he introduces himself to people he’s meeting for the first time: hi, I’m Gar R. Arbuckle. I’ve even started calling him Gar-R sometimes: I’ll call him up and say hey Gar-R, it’s Duncan, what’s up?

I think I mentioned that the R stands for Romulus, and Gar’s even incorporated that. Now if there’s something Gar particularly likes or thinks is pretty neat, he says it’s GarRomulus (kind of like fantabulous I guess). I kind of like the Gar-R, it’s got a ring to it, but the GarRomulus thing is a bit over the top. But I guess he’s still grieving so I’m going to cut him some slack.
