I wish I could take credit for this because I really, really like it. But alas, I cannot. I was at the Portland Saturday Market this weekend (I’m thinking it was Saturday ) and at one of the vendor shops I saw a tee shirt with this caption under an image of Shakespeare. I threw back my head and laughed and laughed like a little girl seeing her first tuba. I exaggerate slightly for effect – I didn’t laugh quite that loud, as it would have been unseemly, but I did chuckle.
[For those who wonder and worry about such things, I did check and found that the phrase has not been trademarked, so I think I’m okay in using it here.]
I immediately felt at-home with the phrase, because you know, that’s what Duncan Funk is all about – provoking discussion. Whether it be current events or contemporary culture or keen observations, that’s what we’re here for. And as an extremely indirect aside, Vulva doesn’t usually offer unsolicited criticism of my posts. But she made it clear she was not enamored with my last post about how young people feel about their decks, saying that she thought it would go over most people’s heads. But I guess that’s why you’re at DuncanFunk.com right now rather than at VulvaMeadows.com, because I have the better handle on the pulse of contemporary America. I have little doubt that that post on decks stirred substantial discussion and debate among America’s young professionals. You discussed me!

We have the Jayhawks for Our Duncan Funk Song of the Day. (I don’t really have a clue about the video, but the song itself is worth a listen.
