When I first saw this photo I thought it might be of my friend Gar R. Arbuckle and his girlfriend Eleanor Galore, because, well, Gar’s seemed a little tense lately. But no, it’s not them – it’s just some stock photo that was used for a CNN.com story. (As I thought about it, the people looked nothing like Gar and Eleanor, and Gar doesn’t own a shirt like that.) I do find the photo instructive, however, because if you study it closely and at length, you can actually start to sense some tension between the two individuals.
